A wood foundation? Is it pressure treated? If so, your CA problem would probably be minimal...

As far as the foam is concerned, ants (of almost any kind) will burrow into it and use it for a home, they LOVE the stuff. If I find that this is the case, I'll generally advise the removal of it, it can be a BIG and constant problem.

I would have the OUTSIDE treated with Termidor. This is (generally) a once per season treatment and you DON'T need a contract for this.

Your IP says you're in Illinois. Where in Illinois are you, and who is your exterminator? Did he recommend a Termidor treatment?
