It's been about a year since I last posted here. Last March I posted about CAs in my home, mostly in one room coming in from a hole behind fireplace molding. From the outside they entered from a whole in the wall down one floor and parallel to the fireplace.
It made sense to focus on that area, and after a termidor treatment around there, and 100s of dead/dying CAs inside my family room, we've been CA free for a year!
Found a ant dead, near the same fireplace. Thought nothing of it, figured it was a stray that wandered in. Today found another one, almost dead, in the same exact spot near the fireplace. It seems too much of a coincidence, and it has me a bit worried again since this is how it started previously before escalating to many, many CAs.
We've previously sealed the hole outside, opting to leave the one behind the fireplace since it'd require tearing it up. Also had a recent Termidor treatment both inside and outside trouble areas (April/May). It feels like I'm out of ideas of what to do next. They were dead/dying, so I guess the Termidor is working, but I want to get to the root of the problem incase it gets worse again. Would contacting someone to take a look be advisable? Or should I try my luck and wait a bit longer?
I know it seems silly to fret over just two CAs. But last March just 2 turned out to be a nest in my wall!
Any advice is welcome!
