Thank you for responding, and for your advice! I did see hundreds, if not more, when I found that outside nest. The exterminator has done the Phantom/Termidor combination treatment twice within the past month, most recently Monday evening. Because Monday was the second time he has taken that course of action, I became concerned that it's either ineffective, or there's another unidentified significant infestation somewhere, and what I am continuing to see is the tip of another iceberg. I am in Delray Beach, FL, and we have had a good amount of rain the past few weeks - could the first outside treatment have been washed away before it was able to be fully effective? The rain started about 2 days after the application. Last night the ant activity was significantly reduced - I saw about 8, but one had wings, which was new for inside. Previously, I had only seen winged ones with the initial nest discovery. Does this mean that the ants are trying to form another nest or am I seeing the last "escapees" of the current (probably satellite) nest? Thank you again...I plan to get some paper bags at lunchtime!
