You're worrying too much...

Yes, a few ants in the spring, even CAs are normal. It's NBD. It's only a big deal if you're seeing HUNDREDS a day. Can't say if the bait "worked," I rarely use baits on CAs, they're too finicky and control is iffy.

As far as toxicity and Termidor, don't worry about that either, you're not going to DRINK the stuff are you? The rain won't "wash" it away. Not unless you have 3 inches of rain right after application, or something... And "protective" clothing on the label? Did you ever read the label on the medicines you get? They often say you could DIE from it lol. I just bought a ladder the other day. It has a total of 9 labels on it, all regarding safety. One even specified not to put the ladder against power lines - DUH!

And Termidor is NOT a registered product, so that anyone can toddle up to the counter and buy the stuff. If you use it, follow the mixing instructions, don't use more than they say. You want the Termidor to be taken back to the nest, not kill them right away. (There's a science to this, believe it or not - that's why they say to use a "professional" - which I agree with.)

Don't worry about the kids, they'll be fine. You have MUCH more toxic stuff under your sink than I have in my whole truck. Just use regular common sense and don't worry about it.
