Well, you were right! Couple days later and no more winged ants inside! Saw a couple outside, near the garage door, accompanied by many non winged pavement ants. Also what seemed to be a queen without her wings roaming around inside by my front door. But as you said, no home is impenetrable so I'm not sweating it! Taking your advice now and thinking nothing of it!

Maybe some time this month I'll get my local guy to do a
quick Termidor treatment around the perimeter just for future prevention... had him here a few years ago for a CA problem. Figure it can't hurt, just in case these guys want to eventually set up shop inside!
