Thanks for your speedy response. Unfortunately, the slab has been poured. We read through the link on pre-treatment….but we're past that point now. My next step is to add 3" of foam board insulation around the perimeter against the slab and a "skirt" of insulation on the ground around the slab. Should we apply something to sides/edge/corners of the slab prior to insulating the perimeter, maybe on the earth too under where the insulation is going? Another question, since the sand is sandwiched between the insulation and the slab and the slab is heated with in floor hot water that sand will be as dry as a bone. Don't the ants need a wet or humid environment to net in? Also my soil is sandy gravel and very well draining, does this affect anything? Many thanks for all the quality advice.
