Nope. Not really anything you can do now. No matter how tight you build it, over time it will crack, and if there's anything under there, there's always the possibility they will come through.

The ants don't need "water." they can always get it, no matter how dry it seems, so just do everything the normal way, maybe it won't happen for years.
