I live in Eastern Ontario Canada and as I was letting my dog out at 5:30am I noticed hundreds of ants (some with wings, most without) right outside my door. I have two largeish concrete patio stones right outside my door and I noticed the ants on them and under them. There were some also on the pad that my A/C unit sits on and some in the grass. I'm not sure if they are Carpenter ants or termites. They were possibly biting my dog as she seemed very bothered by them. I panicked and sprayed them with the first thing I could find, laundry stain remover. It possibly killed some of them, or just made them retreat. I went back around 6:30 am with the thinking that maybe they only come out at night. I could still see many under the patio stones and a few on the stones.
I have only seen a few ants in the house over the summer. I have noticed some "sawdust" in the corner of the basement. I'm 60% sure it is from the wall but it could also be dirt from something else.
Sorry for the long message, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
