I also sent an email with more detail that I found on your site... sorry for the redundancy.
I'm now getting about 20-30 carpenter ants a day - mostly in my basement. At first just few foragers... now foragers and swarmers. I'm most concerned that the swarmers occasionally make it upstairs and I'm concerned about the nest spreading.
Orkin has been out twice. The second visit was this past saturday and they baited and dusted the areas. They think I have a mature nest but the question is where. With no obvious signs of water penetration, visible frass, or lines of foraging ants - the best guess for the nest location is either an area behind a concrete stump that butts up against wood trim or the insulation behind the basement dry wall.
Before I take a sledgehammer to the concrete stump or allow Orkin to drill into my basement drywall, can you suggest my next best action to locate the nest?
Thanks for your time!
