Not a whole lot you can do about foraging ants. Especially in the springtime. I can see that in MY house... And if you're using a pre-mixed insecticide, one that you don't have to mix, you can trap the ants inside, and make it seem worse!

I kinda agree with your husband, you needn't worry. But, as for that wood pile against the house, I would ask him to move ir away. Even a couple of feet would make a difference, although 20 feet would be better.
