I called an exterminator to treat for ghost ants in the kitchen, we have lots of those in SW Florida. He placed bait on the inside of the receptacles, sprayed the baseboards and sprayed the outside with Termador. All the bugs I had on the outside disappeared but a week later I began to find dead carpenter ants along 1 side of my house. I'm not finding many, maybe 2-3 a day now,(it's been about 10 days now) He left me some Advance 360 bait, honestly I'm afraid to put it down because the bait he used (clear gel) has attracted bunches of the ghost ants, and they are alive & well for these last 3 weeks.
I have some wood dammage on the fascia of 1 corner of my exterior. I'm having it replaced but I'm wondering do I put any bait up there if no nest is found ? and if I don't have a shop vac or see any ants, what insecticide could I spray as a precautionary measure?
I have also found a few open crevices under an outside window sill(concrete) in the same area where I'm finding the CA. I'd like to seal it up but wondering if would be useful to use a dust before sealing. I called my exterminator and the office gals were not familiar with Drione but mentioned Boractin (something like that) What are your thoughts? Thanks, Appreciate your help. Janice
