Treat carpenter ants or replace siding first?

Hello John, I have 'evidence' of carpenter ants outside on a deck near our rotting particle board siding and in our crawl space directly under this area (raised concrete foundation). I have not seen any of the actual ants. Orkin recommended an expensive treatment plan. However, after reading your advice/website, I am thinking we finally address replacing the siding now vs. later. If we replace the siding (warped, rotting, etc.), won't we need to eventually treat at some point, especially if we do not identify an actual nest? Should we self treat in the meantime while we get started on our siding replacement (could take several weeks to get that project started)? Or should we treat after the siding replacement? Appreciate your advice and feedback.
