Thanks John, I have not drilled any holes yet and taken a look.

What would giving it a change in weather tell me ?

I read these things go into dormancy (diapause) starting in fall time. I also read while in that time, they don't damage any wood but would start again next spring ?

So there is no treatment for them over the fall/winter ?
