We live in Georgia in a town outside Savannah. We bought a new house just 6 months ago, but due to unforeseen job market we are moving to another city. We sold the house and the inspection is tomorrow. We were moving items from the attic and I found damaged beams and sawdust. We only found few insects like ants. Initially we thought about termites, but the house is a new construction! After researching I came to the conclusion it is carpenter ants. I'm not a specialist but I heard sounds in the coming from up during the night, usually in the bathroom. There were trees from the lot next to us which touched the roof, exactly the side where the bathroom is located. They were removed just two weeks ago. We also have a large wood are behind the house and we had ants everywhere in the woods. We have termite bond with a pest control company, but I'm quite sure this will not cover to treat the ants, if it is proved to be. I would like your opinion how to handle this situation. My new job starts in one week, I'm out of here, and we need to close in our new house too. Signed: desperate homeowner.
