Thanks for the "house" qualification, I was a bit confused there...

The mold is because of moisture, and so are the ants. It is also possible to have more trouble with the ants AND the mold also.

Not sure what your apartment looks like, but you should find out where these ants are coming from.

If you have a landlord, definitely get him involved. If you are ignored, get your health dept involved.
