Finding and fixing the leak is MOST important. And depending on how long you have to wait, I think it might be better to do that first. You might not then need the Termidor.

And you can spray WHEREVER the ants are on the outside, you just don't want (or need to) spray or broadcast the entire house. You only need to get those ants with the Termidor - it will stay with them and get back to the colony. It's a "domino effect" - but it doesn't want to act "fast," it actually needs to act SLOW.

And I believe you're right about the exterminators. They are getting more aggressive too. And more expensive. Fortunately, you can now also get the chemicals much more easily, and also the knowledge on how to do this. It really isn't rocket science, but you do have to have some common sense and no fear!
