I looked through the website but wasn't clear to me of what to do in my case... which is: My contractor doing a bathroom demo opened a wall and carpenter ants came running out of a window header. He vacuumed up a hundred or hundreds and then called me. The window header needs replacing, but can he just remove the header with the ants in it (with a vacuum nearby to suck the fleeing ants up) and replace the bad wood? We DID recently replace the leaky roof but will check for further leaks around the window. What happens with the "ones who got away"? Just kill them when I see them? Should I dust the wood before it is removed or just remove and vacuum?
Thanks for the help and a great website!
