I'm sorry - guess I should have asked since I have not looked into anything in the stores -- do I look for ant granules that they take back to the nest or just something to kill them off?

And regarding the dryer vent since it is so close to the patio floor where there is a lot of sand, does it matter if blows right on the granules or should I just avoid that immediate area? That exterminator I had a few years back avoided the dryer vent area so just wondering. Thanks.

BTW, my next door neighbor puts out food for chipmunks, squirrels, woodchucks, rabbits and crows so it is not just veggies but everything. They have inside cats "that like to see the wildlife through the door" and they have a deck so it is not on the ground like mine but the food is on the ground....and the crows get their leftovers including meat.....and a bird bath that they never clean out that I am sure harbors mosquito larvae. I nicely talked to them about the food and water (which the town even warns you about) and they have not spoken to me since---they were very nasty and made it plain I should mind my own business. The houses are kind of close too. So much for neighboring!!!!! Plus I can't rat on them as the next neighbor from them is not that close and they would know it was me......and yes, their outdoor "pets" do come over in my yard and I can't get a dog....so frustrating.
