Hi,

I came across your website while trying to think of ways to get rid of my carpenter any problem. I have recently noticed ants coming down from behind my vinyl siding at night. It is a good amount maybe 25-30 ants. They have not come into the house yet but just assuming they will be soon. I think they are originating from a tree in my front yard and the nest behind the siding might be a satellite colony. The ants that are coming from behind the siding are by a downspout which was just replaced last summer when a new roof was put on.

My question is what should I do about the ants? Is it a major problem if they are behind the siding or will they go away when the winter comes (I live in buffalo ny). If it is something to worry about what should I do to get rid of the ants
