For about a month now I've been getting about 25 carpenter ants a day entering my bathroom for the space inside a pocket door. There appears to be some dampness a few inches into the pocket in an area that backs onto the bathtub faucet. I recently caulked some gaps in the bathtub tile where water from a shower may have dripped through. I sprayed some insecticide and this kills them but new ones still keep coming. I had a pest control person in 4 days ago and he sprayed...but they're still coming. More big ones than small ones now. None survive outside about a 10-15 foot area. He told me it could take up to a week to kill them all. I don't think he tried to locate the nest itself. I haven't paid yet. If I still have ants after a week, what should I be asking for from the pest control people?
