You are correct, Don. Several years in the raw, so to speak. Just keep it in a cool, dark place. The diluent, unfortunately, not so long. If it was more than a few weeks unused, I just threw it in the termite tank where it would be mixed in with a much larger amount.
Best answer would be to mix only as much as you expect or need to use. Or mix micro amounts and use a Windex-type sprayer for spot treatments. And fire ants are hard to kill, so you can use the highest recommended amount of Termidor.
BTW, B&G equipment makes a nice little sprayer, about 1 or two quarts (I forget) it is a heavier duty plastic, but it's good for those small amounts you might have to mix. The DIY sites probably sell B&G equipment too, I remember them being around $20 or so. If not, get them from Residex.
Not sure where you are, but I'm in FL too, I retired down here. I haven't seen any fire ants around my place (Palm Coast) fortunately! Not yet, anyway, but I do know they are around!
