Hope you are well and enjoying your retirement. I have been following the boards here and am so glad to know you still monitor them. We readers and former customers really appreciate the knowledge and advice you offer here. It has been a couple years since I last posted to the boards, about my CA problem here on Warwick Rd in Somerdale. You did a perimeter spray for me in Fall 2014 for the CAs and worked a miracle to eventually eliminate that years-long problem.
I am writing this time about tiny black ants that have been coming into my kitchen, I believe through a crack in the back panel of one of my kitchen storage spaces. The storage space is basically built right off the floor, so I think the ants are just making their way in from outside into the most easily accessible spot. I first noticed them early this month as the Spring warm-up started, first in ones and twos, but for the last few weeks they have really been active coming in the house, to the point they are starting to make their way up and out, spreading to the counter and the stove area. I have not applied any chemicals/killers/bait as of yet, but within the approx. month I have been monitoring them, they are spreading. Of course I would like to control the problem if I can, as soon as I can. My question: is it a good idea to use the Terro liquid ant baits to control them at this one entry point, or should I opt for another perimeter spray with Termidor to do an overall control, in case the ants decide to try another entry route after this one? It has been over 2 and a half years since you sprayed with Termidor, and we have not done any other treatment since then. You know me, I am thinking run to the store and pick up some Terro right now and get the ones I see, then follow up with Termidor on the perimeter. I like to get out the big guns, even on the little guys ha! Any advice? Thanks!
