Hi John - I saw another person post something about your retirement. Hope your enjoying your retirement, and thanks for the help in the past. We have a very old silver maple tree in our backyard and were just told by a tree company there is a lot of damage because of previous company's bad trimming of it. As a result he said we likely have carpenter ants. Aside from that he said because of the bad cuts, water is getting into some of the branches. He said it needs to come down and is a safety hazard. I am getting other estimates as well but wondered what you could tell me about the carpenter ant issue. This guy said if his company does the work, they'll be sure to haul off all the chips, etc. to insure we don't have any left behind ants. Can you give me your opinion of this as it relates to the ants? Thanks so much!
