Hello. I found your site while looking for information on carpenter ants and have learned quite a lot this morning. First of all, I though these ants were big and black. Not necessarily. The ants I have are reddish brown with a dark abdomen and head. Some are tiny and some are large with a huge head, some have wings. I found them on the window sill in the front bedroom. I laid out bait and all I see are dead ones or those who are barely moving. While working outside in this area I found the gutter stopped up. I also found a small area on the roof where wood was exposed near the gutter. I had a new roof installed last year. I cleaned out the gutters and I covered the exposed wood. I also spray around the slab foundation on a regular basis. Is there anything else you might suggest that I do? Thanks in advance for your help and the work that you do to educate us!
