Hi John:

Well the exterminator came back the other day. He's been in the business 17 years I guess.

So I had explained to the office guy that I had sprayed Raid and put DE down, so he knew of this. When the exterminator, the owner of the business, came over this time, he said he didn't know I had done those things, and said he wouldn't have come to spray had he known. He was a nice guy overall, AND he is refunding my money. I didn't even have to ask for the money back.

BUT he said there's nothing he can do for me right now considering I've put my own insecticides down already before he sprayed. So he basically said the ants will keep coming. He said they've separated their colonies now because of that, and that's why I'm seeing more and more.

He said when the winter comes the ones that aren't living near the vents should go dormant, but the ones living near heat may stay active.

He gave me lots and lots of advice for future. He said he would come in Spring and wipe them out, but said there's nothing he can do for me right now. I'm leaving this place in February, so Spring doesn't matter to me.

But he's basically saying that the DE/Raid has potentially blocked his process and that's why the process isn't wokring most likely. But to still wait and see and give it the 30 days to see if his spray can still help with the problem.

I'm basically living now in an ant filled house, with no end in sight. I feel like I've ruined the whole process by putting DE down, but doesn't every homeowner/renter try to take care of the problem on their own first? He didn't fault me for that at all, and agreed that they do.

But it would seem he is done with my place and not coming back further to take care of this, because as he said, having sprayed the Raid/DE has basically affected his process....??.

Should I call another exterminator or is he right...has the DE/Raid just ruined the whole place and it's pointless until Spring??

Should I just spray my own sprays again to just keep them under control? I have no idea what to do now...

Thanks!

I
