I cleaned up the powder behind the fridge, under the fridge, around the perimeter of the kitchen, etc. Cleaned it really good. Bought Terro baits. Put them where I've seen them and watched ants just go around the baits. None of them were interested in them. I saw exactly where they were coming out from the baseboard, watched them walk over to the bait and just go around it.
I think he said they were grease or sugar ants.
So after I cleaned up all the powder, which does kill them, I was seeing them come out and they seemed more fast and active. Over the past month and a half the amount of ants has significantly increased. Under the fridge it was loaded. The powder killed them all there.
I'm very disappointed in seeing ants just avoid that bait. And I was so hesitant to even use baits in the first place.
I may seem wimpy in griping about this, but I have a real phobia of bugs. I feel that I can't even control them properly and I thought I was doing the right things. And to have the exterminator basically wash his hands of me doesn't feel very good. I swear, I wasn't a demanding customer at all!
I've had so many different species of bugs here, it's been unreal. I was first overrun with silverfish. That was the main roommate that I had. They've been here ever since I've lived here . A brown spider visited me, which terrified me.
Random oddball bugs I've never even seen before, rubbery small worms. It's been constant with no break really. So these ants are the last straw as I've endured a lot of bugs in the 9 months of living here. I rent a condo in a very nice area of town, so this has been a very disappointing experience living here.
It stinks to go home and know you won't be able to relax or feel comfortable in your own home. Things could be much worse, but I've endured my fair share of bugs in this place on a continual basis.
And the owner of the condo won't pay for an exterminator. She says she's never seen bugs there before, which me and the exterminator I personally hired had a good laugh about.
