I have a house which had a definite mouse problem. They were fruitful and multiplied many many times over. Got traps and bait, and I think the problem is under control. Had not seen signs for a while, and we left the house for 2 weeks and put down lots of bait which was untouched. My questions are this - 1. How do I deal with the poop clean up? The attic is the attic, and unless it causes a health issue I am not living in there. However, in the basement there is plenty of it. Do I need to disinfect and destroy and rip out paneling? Can I just vaccum and mop?

2. I am not sure how the little buggers got in. Can they dig underground? I dont really see holes in the foundation, and it is a brick house. There is some soft cement on the basement floor (never set correctly after a water pipe repair) that seems disturbed, but they would have to dig to the base of the basement for that. Any ideas?

3. How do I keep them from coming back if indeed I actually got them all. I have left a few snap traps out, but I have a dog and kids so I am reluctant to leave bait around all the time.

Thanks!
