Well, before you can do anything about it, you're going to have to find out what it is... Bait may work for one thing, but bait may not work for another - or it does work and you get a horrible smell for a month or two.

Try blocking the hole with some hardware cloth and see what happens. Then go thru my squirrel pages and the squirrel message board for some hints.
