My husband & I have recently moved to an apartment in Charleston SC from a house in Ohio and have encountered the famed Palmetto bugs. We are trying to deal with them by using our apartment's exterminating service and our own products. My question relates to food storage. I store all opened bags of food (snacks, rice, pasta, etc.) in plastic containers but am wondering about potatoes and onions. Can I no longer have a small stock of these vegetables in my pantry? Also, what about fruit such such as peaches and bananas that need to ripen on the counter for a couple days? Is that a no-no now as well?

Thanks in advance!
