A little over a month ago I started noticing dead bees on my kitchen floor. It would only be one maybe every other day. It would already be dead. They were what I think is bumble bees - not the yellow jackets. They were sort of fuzzy, black and yellow. Then I saw a few on my kitchen window in between the blind and window, just on the window sill crawling. Sometimes buzzing, never aggressive and definitely not flying. My husband sprayed wasp spray all around the windows both inside and out and after a few days I didn't see anything. Its been about a week or two.

Last weekend while putting out fall decorations we noticed something on the top of one of our window shutters (not the same window as where I saw the bees). It looked like a ball of dirt or mud, maybe the size of a tennis ball if it was cut in half, but it was hard. I knocked it down and it sort of broke apart and I looked inside and I thought I saw what looked like might have been dead bug skin. Here is a picture before I knocked it down:

That was Saturday. Tuesday morning we saw what appears to be a bee down in my finished basement. It was just walking on the floor, buzzing, not aggressive. I killed it and flushed it. It was definitely not the same as what I was seeing in the kitchen. It was larger, maybe a little over an inch long. Just one. Same thing Wednesday morning, just one. Nothing on Thursday and then tonight I saw another one. I was able to put it in the toilet and grab my camera. Here are a few pics. I apologize for the quality, but it was in my toilet.

I have absolutely no idea where these are coming from. As I said, it may be one a day, if that, they are not aggressive. I live on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Is this a bee? A hornet? What should I do? How concerned should I be??
