Boy, I sure hope someone here can help me.
I have an SUV, a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, that I use to take my trash to the dump. Last Monday, when I opened one of the trash cans, a rat jumped out of the can and into my car. At least I thought he did, but the way he jumped and the way he startled me, I wasn't sure.
After I got home, I left the doors open for the rest of the day, hoping he would just leave (I never gave any thought to the stuff that was IN my car at the time). Next morning, the top to a small cup of cookies was chewed open and the cookies were gone. When I opened my glovebox, there was a nest made out of torn up napkins.
I left a couple of mousetraps in the car with peanut butter on them and they were not touched.
Today, I went out and detailed the inside of the car, vacuuming the daylights out of it as well as completely emptying the glovebox.
Based on evidence, I am assuming he is living up inside my dashboard.
I have been getting all kinds of suggestions (poison, smoke bombs, leave the radio on fullblast, etc) from neighbors and friends, but I thought I'd post here, because you folks seem to know what you're talking about.
Any suggestions?

Greg
