Most mice caught in traps just run across them. I seldom bait mouse traps, just put them in the right spots.

Hard to say where a mouse goes. They can go anywhere. Use your traps/glueboards as detectors, and, yes, you can do it yourself. And NO ONE can "declare" a house mouse free.
