Like I said, I don't bait mouse traps, I just put them where the mice run into them. I move them around every morning and night. Use the glueboards the same as a trap, in the same areas. I use boxes to make their territory different every day, so they'll explore and find my traps/glueboards.
Mice are dumb, traps work great. Rats are smart, traps don't work as well. In fact, I never use traps with rats, always poison bait or tracking powders - that way they don't get "smart."
If mice are what you have, traps and glueboards work the best. And depending on how many mice you have, this isn't an overnight job.
Mice can take bait from a trap without springing the trap if you are not familiar with traps and mice. That's why I tell people not to use bait, they tend to pile it up on a trap like an ice cream cone. You need to put the traps where the mice travel and you will get them.
