I have a basement woodworking shop. Over the past several months I have found a half dozen dead carpenter bees on the floor or on the window sill. Never ever seen a live one. Have no clue where they are coming from. The walls are concrete block but of coarse have normal frame construction above. House was painted last summer. Before it was painted woodpeckers had drilled several holes in the siding but they were in the upper reaches of the house. Since it's a woodworking shop there is saw dust everywhere. Did they sneak in from the cold and starved to death or what? (When I found them they were all dried out.)
