Hi John,

I've caught 5 squirrels in one week with the 1040 and haven't heard noises so I crawled into the attic and removed 3 more dead (ancient) ones. I'm really having a true home-owning experience! Q: Anyway, I'm now repairing and fortifying the repairs with HARDWARE CLOTH. I purchased some at HomeDepot but I seem to recall you saying that stuff was too flimsy. The stuff I got is 1/2" galvanized and 19 gauge. Is this the right gauge? Q2: I think the house has been a squirrel home for YEARS, therefore I plan to use wood AND hware cloth together. In your opinion should I put the hware cloth on the "outside" then the wood, or vice versa? My thinking is they will be put off chewing a new hole if they encounter steel FIRST. Thoughts?

Thanks!
Lynne
