Laura, don't assign human qualities to vermin. Besides, even if you "let him go" outside, the odds are he would perish anyway. Mice are very territorial, so the introduction of a "new" mouse into other established territories means they are attacked and most often killed anyway. Don't worry about it.

The traps? Just leave a glueboard in an area where nothing but mice can get to it. It will be your "detector."
