Well, fortunately, you don't have fire ants in Canada.... But plenty of other ants do bite.

If you're going to do something about them, it's probably best to get a pro to do it, otherwise you may spread them to other ares, and you certainly don't want to do that. Leave them alone, for now, so the pro can determine exactly what kind of ant they are and use the appropriate metheod to take care of them.
