Hey Guys- you've always provided sound and excellently detailed advice to the wondering homeowner including myself. Thank you! Now, I have one more additional question, please. After treating the large, 212 year old timbers with Boracare (2 times five years apart) I am still nevrvous as to whether or not I am fully protected. Some beams have more heavily damaged areas than others, and it isn't easy to determine if the occasional "frass" is from movement above or signs of active infestation. Therefore, can I coat the timbers with a hardener or urethane now for peace of mind? In other words, just in case new eggs are trying to be laid on unteated surfaces? Just a thought. Thank you and happy new year!

Tom
