Believe me, dear, the flies can get in ANYWHERE! And whatever is "dead" might be small and inside a wall where you couldn't see it.

I field these calls at least 3-4 times a week, I know of what I speak... Happens all the time. It's even happened to me on several occasions.

You have to think how this all happens: something dies. Flies find it within MINUTES! They lay eggs on and in the body. The eggs turn into grubs (you call them maggots) which eat up the dead body. Once they have eaten their fill, each one crawls away to another spot to pupate. They turn into adult flies in a few days (depending on temp) and that's what you see. Once all the pupae have turned into flies, all this will end. Trust me - this is what happens.
