Raccoons same as squirrels?

I know that I can trap and trap squirrels in the same traps without problems. What about raccoons? Or will they avoid a trap where a raccoon has been previously trapped? Is there something I should do to avoid that problem? Water and bleach or something similar?

Thanks John!
