I am in NW Oregon and plagued with what I think are BoxElder bugs. It is below 60 for a few days and they are vanished, but... they'll surely return when it warms up!

QUESTIONS:
Do these two bugs act same?

Is the remedy for one the same as for the other?

Can I change the sex of a tree?

MORE COMMENTS
I tried soap and also vacuming them up buy the hundreds for days at a time, and they ignore it and keep on coming ...I think they come from a neighbor's Japanese Maple and another regular maple tree.

BUT, I have found that they do excitedly hate Windex and 409 Cleaner, and ammonia cleaner. A low/med strong Ammonia solution is the worst for them, and also the cheapest for me.

Thanks for any and all helps you might offer!
