We have a critter in our house, were not sure if its a rat or something else, its chewing holes in my floors and walls, more like ripping, every night at 230 am it starts, mainly in my bedroom, One day we came home and found my powdered humming bird feed in the middle of the kitchen floor torn open, another day i found a bag of ramen soup eaten, next time i found a box of crackers torn into, one night it removed clothing and scraps of material from a small can to remove candy wrappers from it, these i found under a chair shredded up, without tipping the can over,I have glue traps small and large set up, i find the small ones laying in the middle of the floors, i have a large rat trap set with peanut butter, i put flour on the floor to see the size and imprint, its large with a rounded body, i see the foot imprints from the flour near the rat trap and the body imprint as if its layed next to the trap. This thing is ripping my carpet out from under the floor in my bedroom now, has ripped a hole in my wall as round as an apple,it rips the wood and carpet so loudly it wakes us up at night.if you move or turn a light on it will stop but its now starting to do it with the tv and lights on.What would you suggest for a trapping method? so far everything has failed and I worry about this thing biting one of us if it should get onto a bed or in a room with us.
