John, again thanks for diligently answering questions on this board.

I cut a new hole in a corner of the window frame to find out what's going on. I put in a board running from the front of the house to stud. I put in a giant bait block (the green thing), and a mousetrap.

Not long after, I heard the trap spring. I opened the drywall 'cover' to see a long tail moving, longer than any mouse I've ever seen. The bait block had been dragged a few inches towards the front of the house. The trap sprung with nothing inside. Something that looked like a dropping on the wood runner. I closed it up, scared out of my wits.

After a few minutes I pulled the bait block and trap out. Now I guess I need one of those big rat traps that looks like a big mouse trap? I'm not sure it will fit in this space. If you recommend this, what bait to use?

Thanks.
