You just bought the place? Did you have a pest inspection? (ALWAYS have a pest inspection.) If you did, call the guy back.

As for spraying 4 times a year, 3 of those times are worthless. Have it sprayed as soon as you see the critters in the spring. Forget the other 3 times, he only wants your money.

The females are there all summer long. But as soon as they're mated, the males will die off and you won't see them til next year.

Don't worry about the dive-bombing males, they're only trying to intimidate you. They are absolutely harmless. Ignore them. And forget about killing them off. You can kill every male in the daytime and a new batch will be back the next day.

There is no nest. These are solitary bees. Go thru my CB page and you'll be doing the best you can.
