Hi, I am having a problem with Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees, Crickets, Mice and possibly another undetermined rodent.
A couple weeks ago, we had 5-6 carpenter ants in the downstairs bathroom and about 4 in an adjacent room on the same back wall of the house. We also saw 1 carpenter ant in the front living room about 20 feet away come from the ceiling through an airconditioning register. This occured during a one week period of time.I sprayed with an ant spray outside the house and we have not seen any other ants for over a week.
My house is covered with cedar shakes and I have a small redwood stair case in the back. We have an annual problem with many carpenter bees.
I hear some kind of rodent, possibly a mouse running in the walls through the house. Last week, we began noticing an odor in the kitchen and I believe it may be a dead mouse behind the walls.
I have had problems with termites and my exterminating is treating for them in the garage.
He is recommending that I begin a quarterly program where he will treat the house for Ants, bees, wasps, mice, crickets, earwigs. He would be using Talstar, and P.I. Contact Insecticide with actice ingredients pyrethrins and piperonyl butoxide technical. The treatment will be done every three months throughout the year.
I am questioning if this will correct all the problems and the safety factor of using these chemicals and their toxicity. Thank you very much for any help you can offer me.
