Your doctor is fishing.... lol. First of all, you can't tell by "the look" if something is a spider bite - no one can.

Second of all, we don't have BR spiders around here. Midwest, yes, but not here, so you don't have to do a spider sweep for the BRs.

Get her to another doctor.
