Me and my girlfriend live together in her parents house and over the last few days, strange things have been happening. First, we found a material shredded up in our hallway that kind of looked like feathers or fur almost. Then a few days later I got a cold and ways using a lot of tissues. I would find them shredded up outside of the garbage can whenever I left the room. We do have 2 dogs, but neither of them have ever done anything like this before so I don't think it was them. And plus, one of the times I found some tissues shredded up I knew where both the dogs were, so I'm pretty sure It couldn't have possibly been them.
Today when I woke up I found a pile of something that can best be described as clay. It was a huge pile, and smelled earthy, not like animal droppings. Then after I got home I was laying in my bed when all of a sudden both of my dogs ran under the desk in the corner of my room and started growling. They have been in fights before, and I know what that looks like. This time though, they seemed to be growling at something else. They weren't looking at each other, and they didn't start a fight or anything. So I checked under the desk and found more shredded paper and another large pile of that clay like substance.
Does anyone have any idea what animal could be causing this? Or is this something that dogs do, but I've just never seen?
