Don't waste any money on termite control for stumps. As far as grinding them down is concerned, that's just for looks. You won't be affecting termites in the ground, they're there all the time anyway.

The termites will eventually take care of the underground parts of a tree anyway. Remember, most trees, if you could see what they look like underground, mirror what you see above ground, depending on the type of tree.
