I killed a bunch of these boxelder bugs clustered on my porch with about 10-15 drops of dish soap in about a gallon of water pored on them. They either suffocated or drowned. I repeated this about 10 times and got most of them. I don't want them to keep getting in my house. They like maple trees which are in the same family as box elder trees...I am not sure whether to put this soap mixture near my maple tree though which is a mature tree of about 20 ft. height???
