Try hiding it in a cardboard box, turned upside down, cut a small hole in the side, so he can get inside, put a glueboard inside.

OR - maybe....

Cut out a square piece of white paper or cardboard the same size of the glueboard, superglue a couple of Cheerios to the middle and put that out a couple of days in a row. After they take it a couple of times, set up a glueboard in the exact same spot, put a Cheerio in the middle.
